If you are climbing Black Mountain from Capel -y-ffin it's difficult to avoid Black Mountain South Top.  The path goes directly over the summit.  It was never an asccnt to boast about at the pub in the evening, but it is with a twinge of regret that a survey by Myrddyn has shown it to rise by only 14.5m. confirming an earlier borderline indication of 14.7m from the older Natural Resources Wales.  The good news is that Walk 12.1 goes over the top anyway so you can pay it your condolences as you pass.
