5th October 2006 Birks Fell - OFFICIALLY a New Mountain

The OS have just telephoned us to confirm that Birks Fell is 2001ft .  The grid ref they quoted is SD919764 (the spot height on the current Explorer map is in a different place).  And we are delighted to announce that they are going to update the Explorer map! As Graham Jackson and John Barnard give SD918763 as the top we will use that as the official grid ref.
