662 Churchtown

Was Churchtown the site of a Druid temple? Its circular walled churchyard enclosing ancient yews certainly hints at pre-Christian rites. There are links too with the Romans for the church is named after St Helen, the mother of the Emperor Augustine, but the really fun bit of the walk is the bouncy suspension bridge across the River Wyre.
