513 Priestcliffe

"My foot hurts", complained Heather. It was raining and we had progressed only a few yards along the Monsal Trail. Was our traditional springtime walk with the children to end in ignominious retreat? But then the sun came out and all was transformed. We picnicked on the steep slopes of Priestcliffe Lees and, after that, fairly romped up the slope past cowslips, early-purple orchids and yellow mountain pansies. That's the fun of walking with children - everything is suddenly fresh and new again!
