458 Brown Edge

One of Britain's greatest rivers starts life as an unassuming little stream meandering through fertile fields on the Staffordshire Moorlands. Bluebells flourish in the surrounding woods, while above on the ridge the former mining village of Brown Edge dozes in the sunshine. This is the birthplace of the River Trent and from the ridge top, the views stretch all the way to the Welsh Mountains.
