323 Daresbury

"Curiouser and curiouser", said Alice. Lewis Carroll was writing about Alice in Wonderland which starts with the White Rabbit, but what would he have thought about the white tower at Daresbury? Enigmatically it dominates the birthplace of the famous author, who is commemorated by a church window including the famous rabbit. Yet although the locals protested loudly when the tower was built, you should have heard the complaints ten years later when they wanted to demolish it!
